Your Visit

Every visit follows the same quiet shape. This is how it unfolds.

Before your visit

Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive the address and a short health questionnaire. Please complete it before you arrive; it is read closely, and it shapes the treatment. Eat lightly beforehand, and allow enough time to arrive without rushing.

Arriving

Please arrive at your appointment time rather than early, so that the room is ready and entirely yours. Directions, parking and access details come with your confirmation.

The consultation

Each visit begins with a short conversation. On a first visit it takes a little longer. Amra will ask about your health, any injuries or sensitivities, how you are feeling today and what you would like from the treatment. Tell her anything that seems relevant, and anything that might be. On later visits it is briefer, but it always happens.

During the treatment

You will be left to undress in private and settle beneath the towels. Only the area being worked on is uncovered. Pressure is checked with you, and you may ask for a change at any point: firmer, lighter, slower, warmer, quieter. Nothing happens that you have not agreed to.

Afterwards

There is no hurry to get up. Take the time you need, dress at your own pace and have a glass of water before you leave. Amra will mention anything she noticed that may be useful, briefly, and only if you want to hear it. Where you can, keep the rest of the day gentle.

Privacy

Appointments are arranged so that clients do not meet. Your details are held securely, used only to arrange and shape your treatment, and never shared. What is said in the room stays in the room.

Cancellations

Plans change. If you need to move or cancel an appointment, please let Amra know as early as you can, so that the time can be offered to someone else. If you need to change or cancel, please give as much notice as you can; the terms are confirmed with your appointment.

What to wear

Whatever is comfortable. You will undress to your own level of ease and be covered throughout, apart from the area being worked on. For Back, Neck & Shoulders, you need only remove your top. Leave jewellery at home if you can.

Questions

Is massage therapy a medical treatment?

No. Amra offers massage for comfort, ease and wellbeing, not as a substitute for medical care. If you have a condition you are unsure about, speak to your doctor first and let Amra know when you enquire.

Can I change the pressure once the treatment has started?

Yes, at any moment. You will be asked, but you need not wait to be asked.

Do I have to talk?

No. Conversation is welcome, and so is silence.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can. Appointments are limited and arranged personally rather than through an online calendar, so a little notice helps to find a time that suits you.

What if I am running late?

Let Amra know as soon as you can. She will give you the best of the time that remains, though the appointment will still need to end at the planned time.

Do you visit clients at home or in hotels?

Treatments are given in Amra’s own treatment room. If you need something different, ask when you enquire.
